Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid Explained

A simple explanation of how indica, sativa, and hybrid labels are used in cannabis strain databases.

Indica, sativa, and hybrid labels are common shortcuts used in cannabis strain databases, but they should not be treated as perfect predictors. Modern strains are often mixed genetics, and batch-to-batch differences can be significant.

Indica-labeled strains are often described as relaxing, body-heavy, or evening-friendly. Sativa-labeled strains are often described as brighter, more energetic, or daytime-friendly. Hybrid strains sit somewhere between those labels and can lean in either direction.

For better browsing, compare type labels with THC range, CBD range, terpene profile, lineage, and effects notes.
